• Greg Bailey

    Greg serves as head of SCUA, providing vision and direction, strategic planning, and support to staff and programs to allow for the growth and development of both. Previously he searved three years as University Archivist in SCUA before assuming the role Department Head. Prior to coming to ISU, Greg was the University Archivist and Clements Curator at Texas A&M University from 2014-2019, and he served as University Archivist and Records Manager from 2011-2014 at Stephen F. Austin State University. Greg majored in History with Political Science and Geography minors at Eastern Illinois University. He holds an MLS with a concentration in Archives and Records Management from Indiana University – Bloomington.

  • Amy Bishop

    As Rare Books and Manuscripts Archivist, Amy oversees two major collections areas that make up the "Special Collections" part of Special Collections and University Archives. She curates the Rare Books Collection by making new purchases and evaluating donations. She also develops the Manuscripts Collections, by reaching out to people and organizations whose lives and work tell stories that broaden our understanding of the human experience and who may wish to donate their personal/family papers or organizational records to the Special Collections and University Archives. She also contributes to efforts to engage users with the collections through library instruction, blog posts, exhibitions, reference work, and community outreach. Amy has served as Rare Books and Manuscripts Archivist since 2015. She holds an MSLIS with a Certificate in Special Collections from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BA in English from Northland College. She has served on committees with the Midwest Archives Conference, the Society of American Archivists, and the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

  • Miranda Cantrell

    Miranda is the Special Collections Assistant and joined SCUA in 2024. She previously served as the Lending Coordinator for interlibrary loan at Parks Library from 2018-2023. In her role she is responsible for oversight of the SCUA Reading Room, where she assists patrons with in-person reference questions and processes photoduplication, AV, and image requests. She is a proud ISU alumna, holding a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication. She also holds an MLIS from San Jose State University.

  • Olivia Garrison

    Olivia is the reference and instruction archivist and joined SCUA in 2017. In her role, she is responsible for coordinating the SCUA instruction program, answering the majority of reference questions and ushering photoduplication, AV, and image request orders through the system. She loves to connect patrons to the sources and information they are looking for. Olivia also assists in coordinating the schedule and services in the reading room. Olivia earned a BA in history and political science from the University of Iowa and an MLIS from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

  • Rosalie Gartner

    Rosalie has served as the Lead Processing Archivist since joining Iowa State University in 2017. In her position, she is responsible for arrangement and description of all collections, regardless of format. She implements standards and methodologies to make collections available to researchers and manage collections as effectively as possible. Prior to joining ISU, Rosalie worked in the Emerson College Archives and Special Collections as an archivist and records manager. She received her MS in Library Science with a concentration in Archives Management from Simmons College (now Simmons University). She has been active with the Midwest Archives Conference, the Society of American Archivists, and formerly the New England Archivists.

  • Jessica Green

    Jessica is the Accessioning Archivist and Stacks Manager and joined SCUA in 2022. In her role, Jessica manages the intake of materials as they become a part of SCUA’s collections after they have been donated. She also works to make materials accessible to patrons through the organization and management of SCUA’s collection spaces. Jessica earned her BA in History and Humanities from the University of Colorado-Boulder and her MLIS with concentrations in Archives and Academic Libraries from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the Midwest Archives Conference.

  • Rachael Hargrove

    Rachael joined SCUA as a Processing Archivist in 2024. In her role, she assesses, arranges, and describes SCUA’s special collections to ensure they are accessible to patrons now and in the future. Rachael earned a BA in English from University of Central Florida and an MIS from University of Michigan. She is a member of the Society of American Archivists.

  • McKenzie Reimer

    McKenzie is a processing archivist for SCUA and joined in 2024. As a processing archivist, her role is to survey, arrange, and describe physical and digital archival materials to support the access to, and preservation of SCUA’s rare and unique resources. McKenzie is an alumnus of Iowa State University, where she earned a BS in Journalism and a BA in English. She holds an MLIS with a concentration in Archival Management, and an MA in History, from Simmons University. She is also a member of the Midwest Archives Conference.

  • Rebecca Wells

    As the Student Life Archivist, Rebecca leads SCUA’s efforts to document and preserve a more robust and inclusive record of student life at Iowa State University. Working with students and alumni, she is responsible for facilitating the donation of materials that express a range of perspectives, people, and formats (both analog and digital) produced by ISU students, student organizations, and through student activism. For those who are more comfortable maintaining their own records, Rebecca serves as a resource to teach students how to care for their records in-house. She connects with students, past and present, encouraging them to take an active role in preserving their impact at ISU. Rebecca holds a BA in English, Creative Writing, and Scandinavian Studies with a Music minor from Augustana College, and an MSIS with Endorsements of Specialization in Archival Administration and Preservation Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, Rebecca holds a Certificate from the University of North Texas in the Advanced Management in Libraries and Information Agencies. Rebecca joined SCUA in the Fall of 2022 and remains active in the Society of American Archivists and American Library Association.
